In Pairdle every tile is two letters, and each box in the answer row takes one tile. After a guess, a blue tile is the right pair in the right box, a red tile is in the word but in a different box, and a grey tile is not in the word at all.

Pairdle Standard: CAVIAR
Twelve tiles, three boxes, solved in two guesses.

Friday's Pairdle board had twelve tiles and three boxes, so the answer had six letters. The board words were CAVIAR, TASTES, BANTER and DICKEY. The tiles could also spell CAESAR and STARES, which were not on the board. Those were the traps.
The first guess was the trap CAESAR. CA and AR both turned blue.

The middle pair was the problem. ES came back grey and left the board.

So the answer starts with CA and ends with AR. Only one board word fits that, and its middle pair is VI.
The second guess was CAVIAR. All three pairs turned blue. Two guesses.

Every word the Standard tiles could spell
The board is built from four words. Any other word the same tiles can spell is a trap: it looks right, but it was never on the board.
- BANTER, on the board
- CAESAR, trap word (not on the board)
- CAVIAR, the answer
- DICKEY, on the board
- STARES, trap word (not on the board)
- TASTES, on the board

Pairdle Pro: RESENTED
Sixteen tiles, four boxes, solved in two guesses.

Friday's Pairdle Pro board had sixteen tiles and four boxes, so the answer had eight letters. The board words were RESENTED, APTITUDE, BREEDING and EXPLICIT. The tiles could not spell any other word, so there were no traps.
The first guess was not a word at all. It was ED, RE, SE and NT, in that order. All four came back red. That means every one of those pairs is in the answer, but each one sat in the wrong box.

Four pairs fill four boxes, so the answer is made of exactly those pairs. RE fits at the front and ED fits at the end, which leaves SE and NT in the middle. That spells RESENTED.

The second guess was RESENTED. All four pairs turned blue. Two guesses.

Pairdle Expert: CHATTERING
Twenty tiles, five boxes, solved in two guesses.

Friday's Pairdle Expert board had twenty tiles and five boxes, so the answer had ten letters. The board words were CHATTERING, SUBSCRIBER, WORKPLACES and RESPONSIVE. The tiles could not spell any other word, so there were no traps.
The first guess was not a word. It was CH, RE, SP, ON and NG, a test of both ends at once. CH and NG turned blue.

The three middle pairs missed. RE, SP and ON came back grey and left the board.

Only one board word starts with CH and ends with NG, and that is CHATTERING.
The second guess kept CH and NG and filled the middle with AT, TE and RI. All five pairs turned blue. Two guesses.

Shout-outs to the one-guess winners are in the video.
