In Pairdle every tile is two letters, and each box in the answer row takes one tile. After a guess, a blue tile is the right pair in the right box, a red tile is in the word but in a different box, and a grey tile is not in the word at all.

Pairdle Standard: DOMAIN
Twelve tiles, three boxes, solved in two guesses.

Wednesday's Pairdle board had twelve tiles and three boxes, so the answer had six letters. The board words were DOMAIN, TUGGED, SULTAN and CALLER. The tiles could also spell CALLED, DOGGED and INSULT, which were not on the board. Those were the traps.
The first guess was the trap INSULT. IN turned red. That means IN is in the answer, but not in the first box. SU and LT came back grey and left the board.

SULTAN needs SU, so it was out. TUGGED and CALLER have no IN, and neither do the traps CALLED and DOGGED. Only DOMAIN has IN, and it sits in the last box.

The second guess was DOMAIN. DO, MA and IN all turned blue. Two guesses.

Every word the Standard tiles could spell
The board is built from four words. Any other word the same tiles can spell is a trap: it looks right, but it was never on the board.
- CALLED, trap word (not on the board)
- CALLER, on the board
- DOGGED, trap word (not on the board)
- DOMAIN, the answer
- INSULT, trap word (not on the board)
- SULTAN, on the board
- TUGGED, on the board

Pairdle Pro: INFINITE
Sixteen tiles, four boxes, solved in two guesses.

Wednesday's Pairdle Pro board had sixteen tiles and four boxes, so the answer had eight letters. The board words were INFINITE, CATALYST, PHRASING and LAZINESS. The tiles could not spell any other word, so there were no traps.
The first guess was not a word. It took one pair from each board word: PH from PHRASING, LA from LAZINESS, NI from INFINITE and ST from CATALYST. NI went in the third box, where it turned blue. PH, LA and ST came back grey and left the board.

PHRASING, LAZINESS and CATALYST each lost a pair, so all three were out. Only INFINITE was left, and its NI sits in the third box.

The second guess was INFINITE. NI stayed in place, and IN, FI and TE all turned blue. Two guesses.

Pairdle Expert: ENGINEERED
Twenty tiles, five boxes, solved in three guesses.

Wednesday's Pairdle Expert board had twenty tiles and five boxes, so the answer had ten letters. The board words were ENGINEERED, WORTHWHILE, SIMILARITY and CLINICIANS. The tiles could not spell any other word, so there were no traps.
The first guess was WORTHWHILE. WO, RT, HW, HI and LE all came back grey and left the board. That took WORTHWHILE out.

The second guess was not a word. SI and MI came from SIMILARITY, and GI, NE and ED came from ENGINEERED. GI went in the second box, NE in the third and ED in the last. All three turned blue. SI and MI came back grey, so SIMILARITY was out.

That left ENGINEERED and CLINICIANS. CLINICIANS has no GI, NE or ED, so it was out too.

The third guess was ENGINEERED. GI, NE and ED stayed in place, and EN and ER turned blue. Three guesses.

Shout-outs to the one-guess winners are in the video.
