In Pairdle every tile is two letters, and each box in the answer row takes one tile. After a guess, a blue tile is the right pair in the right box, a red tile is in the word but in a different box, and a grey tile is not in the word at all.

Pairdle Standard: BRANDS
Twelve tiles, three boxes, solved in two guesses.

Tuesday's Pairdle board had twelve tiles and three boxes, so the answer had six letters. The board words were BRANDS, VENDOR, LAUNCH and TRAVEL. The tiles could also spell BRANCH, BRUNCH, ANCHOR and CHORDS, which were not on the board. Those four were traps, and every one of them needs the CH tile.
The first guess was the trap BRANCH. BR and AN turned blue, so BR sits in the first box and AN in the second. CH came back grey and left the board. That ruled out all four traps at once. It also ruled out LAUNCH, which ends in CH. VENDOR and TRAVEL do not start with BR, so only BRANDS was left.

The second guess was BRANDS. DS turned blue next to the BR and AN that were already in place. Two guesses.

Every word the Standard tiles could spell
The board is built from four words. Any other word the same tiles can spell is a trap: it looks right, but it was never on the board.
- ANCHOR, trap word (not on the board)
- BRANCH, trap word (not on the board)
- BRANDS, the answer
- BRUNCH, trap word (not on the board)
- CHORDS, trap word (not on the board)
- LAUNCH, on the board
- TRAVEL, on the board
- VENDOR, on the board

Pairdle Pro: LOBBYIST
Sixteen tiles, four boxes, solved in two guesses.

Tuesday's Pairdle Pro board had sixteen tiles and four boxes, so the answer had eight letters. The board words were LOBBYIST, SYLLABLE, WITHHELD and DESCENDS. The tiles could not spell any other word, so there were no traps.
The first guess was four pairs that do not make a word: ST, LO, BB and SY. ST, LO and BB turned red, so all three are in the answer but in different boxes. SY came back grey and left the board. That ruled out SYLLABLE, which starts with SY. WITHHELD and DESCENDS have none of ST, LO or BB, so only LOBBYIST was left.

LOBBYIST has LO in the first box, BB in the second and ST in the last, which fits the three reds. The second guess was LOBBYIST. LO, BB, YI and ST all turned blue. Two guesses.

Pairdle Expert: THEATRICAL
Twenty tiles, five boxes, solved in three guesses.

Tuesday's Pairdle Expert board had twenty tiles and five boxes, so the answer had ten letters. The board words were THEATRICAL, DEDUCTIONS, ADJUSTABLE and HUMANITIES. The tiles could not spell any other word, so there were no traps. The four words also share no pairs, so a wrong board word only rules out itself.
The first guess was the board word HUMANITIES. HU, MA, NI, TI and ES all came back grey and left the board. That ruled out HUMANITIES and nothing else.

The second guess was the board word DEDUCTIONS. DE, DU, CT, IO and NS all came back grey too, so DEDUCTIONS was out. That left THEATRICAL and ADJUSTABLE, so it was down to a coin flip.

The third guess was THEATRICAL. TH, EA, TR, IC and AL all turned blue. Three guesses.
