In Pairdle every tile is two letters, and each box in the answer row takes one tile. After a guess, a blue tile is the right pair in the right box, a red tile is in the word but in a different box, and a grey tile is not in the word at all.

Pairdle Standard: PIXELS
Twelve tiles, three boxes, solved in three guesses.

Monday's Pairdle board had twelve tiles and three boxes, so the answer had six letters. The board words were PIXELS, SPEEDS, FLAWED and TWENTY. The tiles could also spell SPENDS, which was not on the board. That one was a trap.
The first guess was the trap SPENDS. SP, EN and DS all came back grey and left the board. That ruled out SPEEDS, which needs SP and DS. It also ruled out TWENTY, which needs EN. Only FLAWED and PIXELS were left.

The second guess was FLAWED. FL, AW and ED all came back grey too, so FLAWED was out. PIXELS was the only board word left.

The third guess was PIXELS. PI, XE and LS all turned blue. Three guesses.

Every word the Standard tiles could spell
The board is built from four words. Any other word the same tiles can spell is a trap: it looks right, but it was never on the board.
- FLAWED, on the board
- PIXELS, the answer
- SPEEDS, on the board
- SPENDS, trap word (not on the board)
- TWENTY, on the board

Pairdle Pro: SILICONE
Sixteen tiles, four boxes, solved in two guesses.

Monday's Pairdle Pro board had sixteen tiles and four boxes, so the answer had eight letters. The board words were SILICONE, HANGOVER, RANDOMLY and MEDIEVAL. The tiles could also spell HANDLING and OVERCOME, which were not on the board. Those two were traps.
The first guess was the trap HANDLING. LI turned red, so LI is in the answer but not in the third box. HA, ND and NG came back grey and left the board. That ruled out HANGOVER, which needs HA and NG. It also ruled out RANDOMLY, which needs ND. MEDIEVAL has no LI, so only SILICONE was left.

SILICONE has LI in the second box, which fits the red. The second guess was SILICONE. SI, LI, CO and NE all turned blue. Two guesses.

Every word the Pro tiles could spell
The board is built from four words. Any other word the same tiles can spell is a trap: it looks right, but it was never on the board.
- HANDLING, trap word (not on the board)
- HANGOVER, on the board
- MEDIEVAL, on the board
- OVERCOME, trap word (not on the board)
- RANDOMLY, on the board
- SILICONE, the answer

Pairdle Expert: CONFIGURED
Twenty tiles, five boxes, solved in three guesses.

Monday's Pairdle Expert board had twenty tiles and five boxes, so the answer had ten letters. The board words were CONFIGURED, BLACKBERRY, CURRICULUM and TOOTHPASTE. The tiles could not spell any other word, so there were no traps.
The first guess was the board word CURRICULUM. CU, RR, IC, UL and UM all came back grey and left the board. That ruled out CURRICULUM itself. The other three words share none of those pairs, so they were all still in play.

The second guess was five pairs that do not make a word: UR, CO, IG, NF and ED. IG and ED turned blue, so IG sits in the third box and ED in the last box. UR, CO and NF turned red, so all three are in the answer but in different boxes. BLACKBERRY and TOOTHPASTE have none of those pairs, so the answer had to be CONFIGURED.

The third guess was CONFIGURED. CO, NF and UR turned blue next to the IG and ED that were already in place. Three guesses.
