In Pairdle every tile is two letters, and each box in the answer row takes one tile. After a guess, a blue tile is the right pair in the right box, a red tile is in the word but in a different box, and a grey tile is not in the word at all.

Pairdle Standard: BOTTOM
Twelve tiles, three boxes, solved in two guesses.

Sunday's Pairdle board had twelve tiles and three boxes, so the answer had six letters. The board words were BOTTOM, NEARER, VECTOR and REMIND. The tiles could also spell BOOMER, NECTAR, RENDER, VENDOR and VENEER, which were not on the board. Those five were traps.
The first guess was the trap BOOMER. BO turned blue, so BO sits in the first box. OM turned red, so OM is in the answer but not in the second box. ER came back grey and left the board. That ruled out NEARER, which needs ER.

BOTTOM was the only board word that starts with BO. It ends with OM, which fits the red. The second guess was BOTTOM. TT and OM turned blue next to the BO that was already in place. Two guesses.

Every word the Standard tiles could spell
The board is built from four words. Any other word the same tiles can spell is a trap: it looks right, but it was never on the board.
- BOOMER, trap word (not on the board)
- BOTTOM, the answer
- NEARER, on the board
- NECTAR, trap word (not on the board)
- REMIND, on the board
- RENDER, trap word (not on the board)
- VECTOR, on the board
- VENDOR, trap word (not on the board)
- VENEER, trap word (not on the board)

Pairdle Pro: SUITCASE
Sixteen tiles, four boxes, solved in two guesses.

Sunday's Pairdle Pro board had sixteen tiles and four boxes, so the answer had eight letters. The board words were SUITCASE, ANTELOPE, INTRADAY and LINGERIE. The tiles could not spell any other word, so there were no traps.
The first guess was four pairs that do not make a word: IT, SU, LO and SE. SE turned blue, so SE sits in the last box. IT and SU turned red, so both are in the answer but in different boxes. LO came back grey and left the board. That ruled out ANTELOPE, which needs LO.

INTRADAY and LINGERIE have no SU, so only SUITCASE was left. It starts with SU, has IT in the second box and CA in the third box, and ends with SE. The second guess was SUITCASE. SU, IT and CA turned blue next to the SE that was already in place. Two guesses.

Pairdle Expert: KILOMETERS
Twenty tiles, five boxes, solved in three guesses.

Sunday's Pairdle Expert board had twenty tiles and five boxes, so the answer had ten letters. The board words were KILOMETERS, MISSIONARY, CHALLENGED and BIOLOGISTS. The tiles could not spell any other word, so there were no traps.
The first guess was five pairs that do not make a word: LO, KI, TE, ME and NG. LO, KI, TE and ME all turned red, so all four are in the answer but in different boxes. NG came back grey and left the board. That ruled out CHALLENGED, which needs NG. MISSIONARY and BIOLOGISTS have none of the four red pairs, so the answer had to be KILOMETERS.

The second guess tried KI, LO, TE, ME and RS in that order. KI, LO and RS turned blue, so KI is in the first box, LO in the second and RS in the last. TE and ME turned red, so the two of them had to swap.

The third guess was KILOMETERS. ME and TE turned blue next to the KI, LO and RS that were already in place. Three guesses.
