In Pairdle every tile is two letters, and each box in the answer row takes one tile. After a guess, a blue tile is the right pair in the right box, a red tile is in the word but in a different box, and a grey tile is not in the word at all.

Pairdle Standard: LOUVRE
Twelve tiles, three boxes, solved in three guesses.

Thursday's Pairdle board had twelve tiles and three boxes, so the answer had six letters. The tiles spelled four words: EMBODY, JUNGLE, LOUVRE and SANITY. No other word could be made from them, so there was no trap. Any of the four could have been the answer.
The first guess was JUNGLE. JU, NG and LE all came back grey, so JUNGLE was out and those three tiles left the board.

The second guess was EMBODY. EM, BO and DY came back grey too. That left two words, LOUVRE and SANITY.

The third guess was LOUVRE. LO, UV and RE went in and all three turned blue. Three guesses.

Pairdle Pro: HYPNOSIS
Sixteen tiles, four boxes, solved in three guesses.

The Pro board had sixteen tiles and four boxes, so the answer had eight letters. The tiles spelled four words: CLUTCHED, DISARRAY, HYPNOSIS and VIOLATES. They could also spell CLUTCHES, ISOLATED, ISOLATES and VIOLATED, and those four were the traps. Each trap borrows tiles from the real words. CLUTCHES ends with ES from VIOLATES, and ISOLATED starts with IS from HYPNOSIS.
The first guess was CLUTCHES. CL, UT, CH and ES all came back grey. With those tiles gone, CLUTCHED, ISOLATES and VIOLATES could no longer be made.

The second guess was ISOLATED. IS turned red. OL, AT and ED came back grey, which ruled out VIOLATED as well. So IS was in the answer, just not in the first box.

Only DISARRAY and HYPNOSIS were left, and DISARRAY has no IS tile. HY, PN, OS and IS spell HYPNOSIS, and all four turned blue. Three guesses.

Every word the Pro tiles could spell
The board is built from four words. Any other word the same tiles can spell is a trap: it looks right, but it was never on the board.
- CLUTCHED, on the board
- CLUTCHES, trap word (not on the board)
- DISARRAY, on the board
- HYPNOSIS, the answer
- ISOLATED, trap word (not on the board)
- ISOLATES, trap word (not on the board)
- VIOLATED, trap word (not on the board)
- VIOLATES, on the board

Pairdle Expert: DETERRENCE
Twenty tiles, five boxes, solved in three guesses.

The Expert board had twenty tiles and five boxes, so the answer had ten letters. The tiles spelled four words: DETERRENCE, DISCOMFORT, MORPHOLOGY and WHATSOEVER. No other word could be made from them, so there was no trap on this board.
The first guess was DISCOMFORT. DI, SC, OM, FO and RT all came back grey, so DISCOMFORT was out and its five tiles left the board.

The second guess was not a word. It used the five DETERRENCE tiles in a mixed order: TE, DE, RR, EN, CE. TE and DE turned red. RR, EN and CE turned blue. So the last three boxes were right, and the first two tiles were in the wrong boxes.

Swapping them puts DE first and TE second. DE, TE, RR, EN, CE spells DETERRENCE, and the board turned all blue. Three guesses.
