In Pairdle every tile is two letters, and each box in the answer row takes one tile. After a guess, a blue tile is the right pair in the right box, a red tile is in the word but in a different box, and a grey tile is not in the word at all.

Pairdle Standard: MARKET
Twelve tiles, three boxes, solved in two guesses.

Wednesday's Pairdle board had twelve tiles and three boxes, so the answer had six letters. The tiles spelled four words: DOABLE, MARKET, SUGARY and VICTIM. They could also spell a fifth, VIABLE, which was the trap. VIABLE uses VI from VICTIM and AB and LE from DOABLE, so it looks like a real board word but is not one of the four.
The first guess was the trap, VIABLE. VI, AB and LE all came back grey. With those three tiles gone, VICTIM and DOABLE could no longer be made, which left MARKET and SUGARY.

The second guess was MARKET. MA, RK and ET went in and all three turned blue. Two guesses.

Every word the Standard tiles could spell
The board is built from four words. Any other word the same tiles can spell is a trap: it looks right, but it was never on the board.
- DOABLE, on the board
- MARKET, the answer
- SUGARY, on the board
- VIABLE, trap word (not on the board)
- VICTIM, on the board

Pairdle Pro: SCREENED
Sixteen tiles, four boxes, solved in two guesses.

The Pro board had sixteen tiles and four boxes, so the answer had eight letters. The tiles spelled four words: IMPROPER, SCREENED, SWITCHES and THROTTLE. They could also spell REOPENED and SWITCHED, and those two were the traps. REOPENED borrows RE, EN and ED from SCREENED, and SWITCHED swaps the last tile of SWITCHES for ED.
The first guess was REOPENED. RE turned red, OP came back grey, and EN and ED turned blue. So the answer ended in EN and ED, and RE was in the word but not in the first box.

The third and fourth boxes were already blue, so RE had to go in the second box. SC was the tile that fit in front of it. SC, RE, EN, ED spells SCREENED, and all four turned blue. Two guesses.

Pairdle Expert: DETACHMENT
Twenty tiles, five boxes, solved in three guesses.

The Expert board had twenty tiles and five boxes, so the answer had ten letters. The tiles spelled four words: COMPETENCY, DETACHMENT, SHATTERING and USEFULNESS. They could also spell three traps: ATTACHMENT, CHATTERING and ENRICHMENT. Two of those traps end in CH, ME and NT, the same three tiles as the answer.
The first guess was ENRICHMENT. EN and RI came back grey, and CH, ME and NT all turned blue. So the answer ended in CHMENT.

The second guess was ATTACHMENT, the other trap with that ending. The last three boxes were already filled, so only the first two tiles went in. AT came back grey and TA turned blue.

That left one empty box, in front of TACHMENT. DE fills it to make DETACHMENT, and the board turned all blue. Three guesses.
