In Pairdle every tile is two letters, and each box in the answer row takes one tile. After a guess, a blue tile is the right pair in the right box, a red tile is in the word but in a different box, and a grey tile is not in the word at all.

Pairdle Standard: SUPERB
Twelve tiles, three boxes, solved in two guesses.

Saturday's Pairdle board had twelve tiles and three boxes, so the answer had six letters. The board words were SUPERB, UNPAID, DALTON and FLIGHT. The tiles could not spell any other word, so there were no traps. No two board words shared a pair either, so a wrong guess could only rule out itself.
The first guess was DALTON. DA, LT and ON all came back grey and left the board. That left SUPERB, UNPAID and FLIGHT, with nothing to tell them apart.

The second guess was SUPERB. SU, PE and RB all turned blue. Two guesses.

Pairdle Pro: PROBLEMS
Sixteen tiles, four boxes, solved in three guesses.

Saturday's Pairdle Pro board had sixteen tiles and four boxes, so the answer had eight letters. The board words were PROBLEMS, DOMINATE, GENERALS and GLANCING. The tiles could also spell GENERATE and MINERALS, which were not on the board. Those two were traps.
The first guess was the trap MINERALS. MI, NE, RA and LS all came back grey and left the board. GENERALS needs NE and RA, so it was out. GENERATE needs them too, so the other trap was gone as well. DOMINATE needs MI, so it was out. That left PROBLEMS and GLANCING, which share no pairs.

The second guess was GLANCING. GL, AN, CI and NG all came back grey and left the board. Only PROBLEMS was left.

The third guess was PROBLEMS. PR, OB, LE and MS all turned blue. Three guesses.

Every word the Pro tiles could spell
The board is built from four words. Any other word the same tiles can spell is a trap: it looks right, but it was never on the board.
- DOMINATE, on the board
- GENERALS, on the board
- GENERATE, trap word (not on the board)
- GLANCING, on the board
- MINERALS, trap word (not on the board)
- PROBLEMS, the answer

Pairdle Expert: PARAGRAPHS
Twenty tiles, five boxes, solved in three guesses.

Saturday's Pairdle Expert board had twenty tiles and five boxes, so the answer had ten letters. The board words were PARAGRAPHS, MASTERMIND, POWERFULLY and WATERCRESS. The tiles could not spell any other word, so there were no traps.
The first guess was WATERCRESS. WA, TE, RC, RE and SS all came back grey and left the board. That left PARAGRAPHS, MASTERMIND and POWERFULLY.

The second guess was not a word. It was built to test all three words at once. PO is the first pair of POWERFULLY, so it went in the first box. RA is the second pair of PARAGRAPHS, so it went in the second box. ER is the third pair of MASTERMIND, so it went in the third box. AP and HS filled the last two boxes. PO came back grey and left the board, which ruled out POWERFULLY. ER came back grey and left the board, which ruled out MASTERMIND. RA, AP and HS turned blue, which only fits PARAGRAPHS.

The third guess was PARAGRAPHS. PA and GR turned blue next to the RA, AP and HS already in place. Three guesses.
